Facebook and Universal Music Group
In Facebook news, they have signed a deal with Universal Music Group to let users upload songs in videos.
Why Facebook Partnering With Universal Music Group Matters For Your Business
Music is an important aspect of video content. It helps to draw the viewer in and keep them watching.
Unfortunately, it can be quite costly for you to add music to your video content unless you use copyright material, which can lead to copyright infringement issues.
Facebook wants to help address copyright infringement, while helping its billions of users with their video content.
They have partnered with Universal Music Group on a multi-year licensing agreement to allow users of Facebook, Instagram and Oculus, to upload and share videos that contain music from UMG's artists without having to deal with copyright violations.
As a business owner, this should make it easier on you to create videos and include a music bed to heighten the quality of your video content.
You can learn more about Facebook's partnership with Universal Music Group here.
Facebook Replacing Disputed Flags
Facebook is set to replace disputed flags on content that is identified as false news with related articles.
Why Facebook Replacing Disputed Flags On Content Matters For Your Business
In an effort to curb fake news, Facebook is going to start replacing disputed flags with related articles.
Their goal is to help give people more context about a story.
According to Facebook, "academic research on correcting misinformation has shown that putting a strong image, like a red flag, next to an article may actually entrench deeply held beliefs – the opposite effect to what we intended."
By using related articles instead, these have proven to be a more effective way to help people "get to the facts," Facebook said.
As a business, you'll always want to be sure you read the news before you share it. This way your content doesn't get classified as fake news.
For now, continue focusing on sharing quality content (that you have read) and let Facebook focus on how they display that content to users.
You can read the announcement about Facebook replacing disputed flags with related articles on the Facebook blog.

Why Instagram Live Video Content Matching Matters For Your Business
Instagram is testing a new feature called live video content matching.
What it does is when you run an Instagram Live video, if they detect copyrighted material, they will stop your broadcast and display the following message.

As a business, you'll want to be aware of any background music you use or any that might be playing. The same goes for showing video content during your Instagram Live videos.
If you don't, you might have your Instagram Live video feature revoked or worse, have your Instagram account banned.
Overall, this is big news, seeing how YouTube has had a very sophisticated content matching system for a while now. It's time for Instagram to catch-up with their own.
