Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 200 An Improved YouTube Manual Copyright Reporting System In YouTube news, they have rolled out a YouTube manual copyright reporting system. Previously, if someone filed a copyright claim against your channel, you didn't always know if it was for music, a trademark violation or even just a portion of a song playing in the background. Effective July 9, the new YouTube manual copyright reporting system, will require timestamps for manual content ID claims on YouTube. If someone reports a copyright claim, you have three courses of action. You can dispute the claim, opt to share ad revenue from the video, or do nothing. Why A YouTube Manual Copyright Reporting System Matters For Your Business If you have copyright claim filed against you, YouTube is working on adding a snipping feature. It will allow you to remove the claimed content from your video in seconds. As a business owner (especially a solopreneur), this can be especially useful. No longer will you have to redo your video. LinkedIn Campaign Manager Updates In LinkedIn news, they are rolling out LinkedIn campaign manager updates to include three new objectives - brand awareness, website conversions and job applicants. LinkedIn campaign manager is adding the following new objectives: brand awareness, website conversions and job applicants. With these new campaign manager objectives, you'll be able to focus on brand awareness campaigns, which is a a top of funnel campaign option designed to help advertisers increase their "share-of-voice" on the platform. Alternatively, you can select the enhanced website conversion capabilities option that are based on actions on your website. You can also use the job applicants campaign manager objective to help people in HR and recruiting to increase the number of job applications. Why LinkedIn Campaign Manager Updates Matter For Your Business If you want to run LinkedIn ads, while they'll likely be more expensive compared to Facebook Ads, the benefit is that using the new campaign manager advertising platform, you can better target your content to the right audience. Keep in mind that LinkedIn Ads will be significantly more expensive, so if you don't have a large budget, you may just be throwing money away or not generating the results that you were hoping for. Overall though, as a business, if you have a budget in the $1,000+ range, you'll want to tap into these LinkedIn campaign manager updates in your LinkedIn ads platform. New: 2019 Twitter Redesign In Twitter news, they have a 2019 Twitter redesign on the desktop version of Twitter. The 2019 Twitter redesign is set to bring easier navigation and new features. Here's a list of the new features coming to the 2019 Twitter redesign. Easier navigation Faster account-switching Expanded Direct messages Twitter dark mode Twitter bookmarks Improved tab navigation for top latest, people, photos and videos Explore on mobile will show more live videos and local content And more Why A 2019 Twitter Redesign Matters For Your Business By improving the navigation on the desktop version of Twitter, it will be much easier for your as a business owner, to use the platform. For example, it is now easier to switch between your personal and business Twitter accounts. In addition, Twitter is making it easier for you to see who followed you. For example, when you have new followers, you can quickly see their Twitter bio simply by hovering over it. Together, these subtle changes, will make the platform easier to use and save you time because the main areas are now in-front of you. and you can get to them faster. Changes To Instagram's Account Disable Policy In Instagram news, they are making changes to the Instagram account disable policy. Instagram is making changes to how they handle disabled Instagram accounts. According to Instagram, "under our existing policy, we disable accounts that have a certain percentage of violating content. We are now rolling out a new policy where, in addition to removing accounts with a certain percentage of violating content, we will also remove accounts with a certain number of violations within a window of time. Similarly to how policies are enforced on Facebook, this change will allow us to enforce our policies more consistently and hold people accountable for what they post on Instagram." In addition, if your Instagram account is at risk of being disabled, Instagram will send you a notification, along with the ability to appeal content deletion. Why Policy Changes To A Disabled Instagram Account Matters For Your Business To start off, Instagram is going to let you appeal content deleted for "violations of our nudity and pornography, bullying and harassment, hate speech, drug sales, and counter-terrorism policies." They plan to expand their appeals policy though over the coming months. The good news is that as a business owner, if your account is disabled, you'll have faster access to appeal having content deleted. Remember, if your content knowingly violates Instagram's policies, don't expect an appeal will magically bring it back. New Pinterest Video Tools In Pinterest news, you can now add videos directly to Pinterest using Pinterest video tools. On Pinterest business profiles, you'll start to see a video tab for you to feature your videos in one place. Pinterest is also adding a pin scheduling tool as well.This way you can plan out your Pinterest videos. Pinterest video tools allow you to natively upload a video to your Pinterest channel. Why Pinterest Video Tools Matter For Your Business You can already pin YouTube videos directly on Pinterest. By adding powerful new Pinterest video tools, you'll be able to upload your videos directly to Pinterest. Because they are also introducing a pin scheduler, you can schedule your videos as well.
