Let's see what's new in social media this week with, Christian Karasiewicz, Jim Fuhs and guest, Desiree Martinez. Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 209 New Facebook Video Publishing Tools For Marketers In Facebook news, they are rolling out Facebook video publishing tools to give you even more options to share engaging live video with your customers. If you publish a lot of live video, then you'll like the new Facebook Rehearsal feature. Page admins and editors can use "rehearsal" to test a new production setup, interactive features, show formats and more before going live on Facebook. Next up is the ability to create a Facebook Watch Party on your Facebook Page ahead of time. This way you can build anticipation and support for video replays. Other Facebook video publishing tools include updates to Creator Studio to include new metrics such as minutes viewed and unique 60s viewers. Creator Studio is also adding a way for you to see which videos loyal fans want to see by looking at return viewers. One last update to new video publishing tools includes the ability to schedule Instagram and IGTV posts. You'll be able to schedule these for up to six months in advance. For now, you won't be able to schedule Instagram Stories, but we suspect that is coming. Why Facebook Video Publishing Tools Matter For Your Business The new video publishing tools will help you more easily schedule Instagram content, while providing you with ways to drive audience engagement using the new Creator Studio metrics and improve the quality of your live video with Facebook Rehearsal. Together, you'll get a host of powerful new tools to help you create better live video content, but also measure it to see what types of videos appeals to your audience and drives them back to your Facebook Page. You can learn more about new Facebook video publishing tools here. YouTube Video Key Moments: Quickly Find Important Parts Of A Video In YouTube news, you can add YouTube video key moments to your YouTube videos. This way you can make it easier for people watching your videos to jump to the most important parts. While you can currently navigate to a point in a YouTube video and right-click and select "copy url at current time" and then add this to your video description to create a bookmark, with YouTube video key moments, you'll now be able to quickly find this information from a Google search. Here's what this looks like. YouTube video key moments help identify the best parts of a video to watch. As you can see, if you search on Google, you'll see YouTube videos, but if they have key moments, you'll be able to quickly jump to those parts in a video. Why YouTube Video Key Moments Matter For Your Business While you can create comprehensive blog posts and have Google crawl those, this didn't exit for video - until now. Rather than create a comprehensive video and expect your viewers to navigate throughout the video to find the important points, you can add key moments. This will help you as a business because you're able to provide better value to your viewers. While it means that your viewer watch times decrease, it also means you're getting the information to your viewers much faster, which can improve their overall experience with your channel. For those of you who want to add mark up to your videos to make them more easily searchable, simply fill out this form. In the meantime, you can read the announcement about YouTube key moments here. Search LinkedIn Service Providers In LinkedIn news, you can now search for LinkedIn service providers. This way you can find service providers and freelancers to help you get a project done. When you use the search feature, you can filter the results by service provider. For example, if you need to find someone to help manage your social media channels, you can search for "social media management" and then filter by service provider. This will bring up a list of providers who say they are open for business and who fit the search criteria you're looking for. Quickly search LinkedIn for service providers that are open for business. Why Searching LinkedIn Service Providers Matters For Your Business By adding the ability to filter service providers, you can quickly find people to meet the job requirements that you're looking for. You can also see any shared mutual connections that you have and message them (without being connected) to see about hiring them. In addition to making it easier to search for LinkedIn service providers, LinkedIn is making it easier to ask your network for service provider recommendations. On mobile, you can create a post and choose to "find an expert." You can then specify project details, expectations and more. LinkedIn will also provide a list of relevant hashtags to include to help your service provider recommendation reach the right individuals. As a business, this is a very useful feature. Not only can you quickly find the right person for the job, but you can leverage your connections to help recommend the right one. You can read the announcement about searching LinkedIn service providers here.
