Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 290 Twitter Spaces This week, we have Twitter Spaces, a Clubhouse alternative. Spaces has been in the works for quite some time. Over the past few months, Twitter has been busy. In addition to working on Spaces, they've also been working on recording Spaces audio, Twitter voice recordings and more. With Spaces finally here, if you have over 600 followers on your Twitter account, you'll now be able to access Twitter Spaces. This mean you'll be able to create your own audio rooms, similar to Clubhouse or Facebook's Hotline App. Here are a few things you'll want to know about using Spaces. When someone you follow starts or speaks in Spaces, it appears at the top of your timeline as a purple bubble. If you're a listener, you can react to what you hear using emojis, follow along with captions, tweet or DM the Space. You can also request to speak. Speakers can pin tweets to a Space and turn on captions. In your Twitter Spaces, you control the topic, can invite people to join via a tweet, DM or by sharing a link. Hosts can mute speakers or remove them from the space. Here is how to join these audio rooms. How to Join Twitter Spaces As mentioned, you will need to have 600 Twitter followers. To create Twitter Spaces, follow these steps. Why Having A Content Calendar Is Important For Social Media This week, we talked with Valerie Morris, owner of Tintero Creative, about the importance of having a content calendar for your business. Here are the tips that she shared about this topic. What is a content calendar? A content calendar is a high level plan of the themes or content you'll talk about over the course of time. You can create a content calendar using Google docs, Trello, Asana, etc. How do you bring the concept of content cycles into your planning? Can you be strategic? A content calendar helps think backwards, when you need to do the work and be ready. Leverage evergreen content, content that is not time-sensitive. Batching your work becomes much easier when it's evergreen content. How much time should someone spend on creating a content calendar? Map out 1 year. What are my monthly milestones? Break it down into a trimester - Fall, Spring, Summer. For social media, try to plan out 1 month at a time. You can adjust. Don't make your content calendar too rigid be flexible.
