Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 293 Instagram Engagement Insights, Measuring Reels and Live Performance This week, we have Instagram engagement insights. You might think of these as analytics for Instagram. According to Instagram the new insights can "help creators and businesses better understand and evaluate their performance on the platform." For example, if you are creating Instagram Reels content, you'll see new metrics "including Plays, Accounts Reached, Likes, Comments, Saves, and Shares." If you are creating Instagram Live content, they will be "showing Accounts Reached, Peak Concurrent Viewers, Comments, and Shares." Instagram also says you'll start to see the new analytics in your Account Insights. Other Social Media News Mentioned Here are some additional social media news topics that we covered on our weekly live social media marketing talk show that are worth checking out. You can now boost LinkedIn Page posts. This is similar to Facebook's boost post button. Pinterest is making it easier to create video content on the platform with Idea Pins. Instagram is testing bonuses to reward Creators. How to Setup A Home Studio For Your Business This week, we talked with Junaid Ahmed about setting up a home studio. Here are the tips that he shared about this topic. What is more effective for generating leads and clients, video or written posts? This is a question so many of my clients ask because some find writing overwhelming and some feel resistant to going live. In my experience is it absolutely paramount to do both, because they serve two completely different purposes. With written posts, we have an opportunity to articulate our ideas and expertise to allow our audience to contemplate and resonate with our thoughts and concepts. Video allows our audience to observe us “in action”. Throughout the evolutionary process, humans develop trust through personal feelings, intuition and simply aspire toward one another. Verbal communication came so much later in our development, so about 70% of our communication is non-verbal, which means with video words are less important as it is more about observing and feeling each other on what I like to refer to as “personal energy” level. Because of its strength, that energy is likely to influence important decisions when it comes to working with or buying from us as opposed to our competitors. If we want the best results from social media, how often should we post? Frequency is indeed the name of the game when it comes to social media presence. But deciding on how much to post depends on a number of factors, the size of your audience and how engaged it is is one of those factors. Gary Vee’s video manager allegedly admitted to aiming at 250 pieces of content per day. But that number is insane if you are a small business with a few thousand followers. It is more important how often you are seen than the depth and quality of each piece of content you produce. The way you post on Facebook to market your business organically depends on where you are posting from. For example, on my personal profile (which I use the most for marketing my business) I post once a day, but I might post up to 6-7 stories in one day, especially if I am promoting something time-sensitive. On my business page, I have a lot of evergreen content automated, so there could be one to three posts a day, sharing a mixture of educational posts and guest appearances in larger publications and podcasts. It is very effective to use your business page for all sorts of educational livestreams that you want to be found easily or authority building interview series that you run on a particular day of the week. Such weekly lives can also be used as part of the advertising strategy to grow your audience and visibility with ads. If you have a Facebook group where you generate the majority of your leads, you can post more frequently, say 4 times a day, and use a combination of fun and value/educational content to keep the conversation going. The secret is to have a bank of short engagement-focused posts that you can tap into. I have even compiled over a thousand such posts and prompts as part of my Ultimate Visibility Kit so that my clients can easily add additional content without getting overwhelmed. Tool of the Week ContentStudio This week, we talked about ContentStudio. Do you struggle with creating social media posts for your business? Sometimes you're not sure where to find ideas.
