James Hicks recently joined me on how to conduct a great interview. You can watch that video here: With TikTok testing out Stories, we wanted to talk with James Hicks about the importance of storytelling. Here are the tips that he shared around this topic. What is storytelling? Storytelling is about conveying a message, emotion, or series of events that take the listener on the journey. It's a way of fully explaining and articulating a point to an audience such that it resonates with those receiving the message. When telling stories, you want to focus on enlightening, educating and entertaining your customers. How do you tell a good story with these fleeting/temporary content tools? You want to be concise and to the point, but also be visually stimulating (either with vibrant colors, or energetic movements). Focus on quality of delivery if you can. Is there any equipment or gear someone needs to tell a good story? No. Don't focus a lot on the equipment or tools. Instead, focus on the quality of the content when telling stories.
