Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 322 Facebook Professional Profiles, Unlock New Audience-Growth Tools This week, we're talking about Facebook Professional Profiles. Facebook has started to roll out a new type of profile on the platform. With this new Professional Mode, creators can work to maximize their presence on Facebook. Here's a look at Facebook Professional Profiles. #Facebook launches professional mode for profiles. #SocialChatter #SocialMedia #SocialMediaNews #FacebookNewshttps://t.co/Iz5ZjtlVfo pic.twitter.com/mhiIZzyvyB — Social Chefs (@socialchefs) December 12, 2021 What Are Facebook Professional Profiles? The goal with Professional Mode is to help creators generate revenue, while growing their audience. Facebook explained this new type of profile like this: “We know that many creators - especially those who are just starting out - are on profiles, so from today we’re announcing the roll-out of a new professional mode for profiles. Professional mode will open up access to post, audience and profile insights, as well as give easy access to monetization features – all in one place.” In addition to opportunities to earn upwards of $30,000 per month to create Reels, provided you're invited into the program, Facebook Professional Profiles will also be able to view a Professional Dashboard with an overview of your Page performance data and audience insights. As a creator, you know having this information is especially helpful to keep you growing as a creator, and to help identify new growth opportunities. Facebook is also adding this information to the top of the feed, so if you have a Facebook Professional Profile, you can quickly see an overview. When Will Professional Profiles Be Available? Right now, Facebook is just starting to roll out Professional Profiles in the US. They plan to expand to the EMEA region in 2022. To join, you should start to see a prompt in your Facebook app. Can I Switch Back From A Facebook Professional Profile? Yes. Once you activate professional profiles on your account, you can switch back at any time. You'll be able to do this from your account. Why Facebook Professional Profiles Matter For Your Business A lot of people use a Facebook Profile to connect with friends and family. Often times, they want to use their connections to build and grow their audience. At the same time, others use a Facebook Profile strictly for personal connections. With Facebook Professional Profiles, you'll have control over who can see your post content. What this will do for you is let you manage your Profile by sharing content just with friends and family. You'll be able to specify what people who connect with your Professional mode see. Remember, you can change back any time. At the same time, you'll also get access to analytics, potential revenue opportunities and more by having Facebook Professional Profiles instead of a regular account. This can potentially lead to new opportunities to grow your audience with the help of these new tools. Although Facebook Professional Profiles aren't yet available to everyone, you should start to think about your Facebook marketing strategy. Do you want a Professional account, or will maintaining a Personal Profile and a Facebook Page be sufficient for your business? Some users might prefer Professional mode, because it affords them the ability to use their Profile for personal and business connections, while giving them more granular control over who can see what. Remember, just because you set permissions on who can see your content with Facebook Professional Profiles, someone can always take a screenshot of it and share it. Goal Setting In the Age of Social Media We spoke with Debra Eckerling, Author of the book, Your Goal Guide: A Roadmap for Setting, Planning and Achieving Your Goals, about goal-setting. Here are some tips that she shared with our viewers. We know that goal setting is important, what is your approach to goal setting and planning? You can’t get what you want without knowing what you want. Think about your big picture. The life you want and your overall mission. Also think about the content that works for you. Are you interested in writing, creating videos, audio, etc. You’ve invented the D*E*B Method. What is it? Determine your mission. For example, look at your current bio and future bio. What is it that makes you unique, and excites you? Next, explore your options. Now that you know what you want, how are you going to make it happen? For example, what is the “thing” that is going to get you to your dream? Remember, this is the research phase. Brainstorm the path and how you will get there. When you have a motto as your guiding principle, you’re better able to evaluate whether they will work for you. Keep in mind that when you say yes to something that isn’t in alignment to who you are, you’re saying no to yourself. Is there an ideal time to set goals? No. You can set goals any time. You should take a step back when you have a big change happen. This way you can refresh and reboot and make sure you're still in alignment with your goals. What are three ways someone who has a tough time setting goals, can succeed with goal setting? First, give yourself permission to dream. Next, create a visual for you to look at. Remember, out of sight, out of mind. Keep your goals in front of you so that you are reminded of them. Lastly, schedule time to work on them. Put time on your calendar and make an appointment with yourself. Even if it's just 30 minutes to 1 hour per week, keep the promise with yourself. Goal setting will get easier the more you work on it.
