Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 329 YouTube Strategy For 2022 This week, we're taking a look at YouTube strategy for 2022. YouTube is shifting their priorities. For example, they are shutting down their original content group. These were original shows that they ended up selling to companies such as Showtime and others. In addition, they plan to invest more in YouTube Shorts content and Music. Two areas where they have seen growth. Gaming and shopping are also going to come more into focus. For example, live product reviews and new merch drops are becoming more popular view viewers. Together, with their shift to these priorities (and others in the video below), you'll want to consider shifting your YouTube strategy for 2022. Take a look at YouTube priorities for 2022 An update on #YouTube key priorities in 2022, including the state of the creator economy, innovation, and protecting the YouTube community.https://t.co/HfYgRpd85C #SocialChatter #SocialMedia #SocialMediaNews #YouTubeNews — Social Chefs (@socialchefs) February 2, 2022 Why Your YouTube Strategy For 2022 Matters For Your Business YouTube is clearly trying to go along with some of the trends, while putting more of an emphasis on content creators over original content. What this means for your business is that your YouTube strategy for 2022 needs to include some of these elements, such as live product reviews and so on. These were previously elements reserved for just large YouTube creators; however, anyone, even you, can now do this, and should. If you want to stay top-of-mind with customers, consider publishing your own unboxing videos of your own products, or creating videos to supplement what you sell. You can take this a step further by collaborating with customers and encourage them to create videos on your channel or on their own to help expand your reach. Keep in mind, this is just one YouTube strategy to consider. You can even have your own merch line, since the barrier to entry is low. The key thing is to review YouTube priorities for 2022, and begin to adopt some of them into your own content strategy, so that you can grow throughout the year. Agile Marketing For Small Businesses With more and more demands placed on small businesses, you might feel overwhelmed. This week, we spoke with James Tucker about Agile Marketing and how it can help a small companies move faster. Here are some tips that he shared. What is Agile Marketing? It is a way to prioritize work to be more efficient and effective. You hold brief stand-up meetings where you talk about what you are working on, and whether there are any roadblocks or new information for your task. Is agile good for small companies? Yes, but it can feel overwhelming to get your list of priorities out in the open. Rather than having one large task, that can seem difficult, you break it down into smaller more manageable tasks that you track them daily. For small companies, Agile Marketing can help you move things along. Can you share some ways a small business can be agile, without feeling overwhelmed? First, create a backlog of tasks you need to complete. Write the tasks you need to do on Post-It notes. Determine what is a priority and what is not. Move the top priorities to “in progress” so people are working on them. You can visually see if there are too many tasks in process that can create bottlenecks.
