Facebook Launches Local Insights for Local Businesses

Facebook local insights adds additional functionality such as being able to see the percentage of people in the vicinity of your business. You can also know when people are more likely to visit your business and also learn more about the age and gender of someone and if they are local or a tourist.

Twitter Emoji Reactions

Twitter is testing out Twitter emoji reactions. These are similar to Facebook reactions.

Essentially, instead of just liking a tweet, you can use emojis to tell people how you really feel about a tweet.

LinkedIn's Updated Mobile App

Another big change this week comes from LinkedIn.

They've done a major overhaul on their mobile app to make it more user friendly.

Personally, we feel it looks a lot like Facebook's mobile app.

Instagram Testing Multiple Accounts

Another big update this week comes from Instagram.

They're currently testing the ability to switch between different Instagram accounts from one account.

Right now this feature is only available on Android.

Facebook Page Plugin for Messenger

 
Instead of having to go to your Facebook Page to message your business, you can now "easily message your business without ever leaving your website."

This is done using the new Facebook Page Plugin for Messenger.
 

Facebook Launches Live Video and Collage

One last update this week in social media comes from Facebook.

They've introduced Facebook live video and collage.

Facebook Live Video let's you create a broadcast for others to subscribe to.

The second feature is called Facebook Collage.

Collage takes photos and videos that you create and groups them into a "scrolling, moving collage."
