Facebook Launches Live Video for Pages

Facebook Live Video for Pages

This week, Facebook rolled out Live Video for Pages.

To access live video on your Facebook Page, launch the Pages Manager app and go to publish a new post.

Tap on the person icon.

Here, you'll be able to start your Facebook Live Video on your page.

When you're done, your video will show up on your page as a video post.

As a business, this can be a great way to add another type of content to your page and to better connect with your customers.

For example, you could hold a Facebook Live Video on your page every Friday and share some of the things you're currently working on in your business. This also gives fans a way to learn more about the people behind your Facebook Page.

Facebook Instant Articles Come to WordPress

Facebook Instant Articles for WordPress

Also this week, Facebook announced a WordPress plugin for adding Facebook Instant Articles to your blog.

According to Facebook, "our goal from the beginning has been to make Instant Articles available to all publishers and our partnership with Automattic is another exciting step towards realizing that goal on April 12 at our F8 conference."

This is also a topic I will be discussing more in-depth at Social Media Marketing World, which you can attend in-person or virtually.

Facebook Buys Masquerade

Masquerade - iOS

Another major update this week from Facebook was that they acquired Masquerade, a face-swapping app to help them bring over Snapchat users.

Twitter Adds Support for Links in Moments

Another announcement this week comes from Twitter.

They’ve added support for hyperlinks within Moments.

"You can tap a link to a news article, blog, recipe, and more — directly from a Moment. When you’re done browsing, simply click out and jump back into the Moment where you’ve left off."

New Blab Image Dimensions

Blab Image Dimensions Template - 2016

One last announcement this week comes from Blab.

When creating your show, you can add a custom image thumbnail. The sizes have changed though.

The correct Blab thumbnail image dimensions are 1,000 x 1,000 pixels.

If you need a Blab template, you can download one here.

Tools

In addition to sharing the latest in social media news from this past week, we also highlighted some great tools and apps to check out.

Respond by Buffer

Respond by Buffer - Responses

Respond by Buffer is a tool for managing your Twitter channel.

With Respond by Buffer, you'll be able to better handle customer support in your business.

This way you'll be able to stay on-top of questions from customers.

While they only support Twitter at the moment, I suspect they are building it to function more like Hootsuite and to have it function as a complete social media dashboard tool for your business.

Design Feed

DesignFeed

Another tool we wanted to share this week is DesignFeed.

You know how time-consuming it can be to create images for social media.

DesignFeed wants to make it easier.

Not only can you add your brand colors, but they'll also help create designs for you that are geared towards each social network.

Automatically create designs with DesignFeed

They help take the guesswork out of creating different image sizes. At the same time, this helps save you time and creates consistency across your images that you share across your favorite social networks.

Right now they're in beta, but you can request an invite below.

Sanebox

Email Management Tool - Sanebox

The last tool we wanted to share this week is Sanebox.

Sanebox is a tool that learns which emails are important to you and filters out the others.

This can save you hours of time and even help you save precious data on your mobile devices.

With Sanebox, you get one-click unsubscribe - simply drag emails into a folder and you won't hear from them again.

You can also be notified when an email you sent was not replied to by a certain time and even snooze non-urgent emails.

Sanebox also offers a 14-day free trial. Afterwards, it's just $7 per month
