Let's take a look at the steps you need to use livestreaming in your Facebook groups.

1. Launch the Facebook mobile app

Facebook Mobile App - iOS

In order to broadcast to your Facebook Group, you’ll need to download the Facebook mobile app (iOS | Android).

If you’re also using the Facebook Groups app (iOS | Android), right now it is missing some of the functionality needed to use Facebook Live Video for groups.

Your Facebook Live Video broadcast will now show up on your Facebook Group’s timeline.

They will also show up under Photos > Videos for the Facebook Group.

I suggest creating an album to help you better organize Facebook Live Videos for groups. This way they are easy for members to find and watch.

Additional Facebook Live Video for Groups tips

One thing you want to remember when using Facebook Live Video for groups is that anyone who is a member of a group can post Facebook Live Video.

This means you might have a lot of members posting video to your group, which can get away from the purpose of the group.

If you run your own Facebook Group and you don’t want users to post to your group, here are some adjustments you can make.

Edit your Facebook Group description

Edit a Facebook Group description

To discourage members to post Facebook Live Video in your group, consider changing your group description.

In your Facebook Group description, add a few sentences that tell members what they can and cannot post.

For example, please do not share links to blog posts or post Facebook Live Video in the group.

Adjust group posting permissions

If that doesn’t work, the other option you have is to change the Facebook Group posting permissions.

This will make it where the group admin or moderators have to approve posts before they show up to everyone in the group.

While these options add extra work for you, they can help you maintain tighter control of your Facebook Group, instead of it being overrun with too many Facebook Live Video posts.

Over to You

Now you know how to use Facebook Live Video for groups. Remember, you can also use live video for pages as well as for events that you’re running for your business too!

By incorporating live video into your Facebook Group, this gives you new ways to engage with your group members rather than just posting links to blog posts or sharing photos.

With live video, you might even consider holding a discussion with your members about a blog post you recently wrote that they might have questions about. The possibilities are endless on how you incorporate Facebook Live Video for groups in your business, so get creative in how you use this feature!
