Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 288 Facebook Audio Creation Tools This week, we have Facebook audio creation tools. Facebook is launching a series of audio tools to help you create and record audio content for Facebook. These include soundbites, "short-form, creative audio clips for capturing anecdotes, jokes, moments of inspiration, poems, and many other things we haven’t yet imagined." They are also rolling out Facebook podcasts, which can be played through the Facebook app, which will help keep users there longer and collecting data, on the platform. They're also rolling out Facebook audio creation tools for live audio as well, which will be rolling out this summer to Facebook Groups, Messenger, and Facebook. #Facebook launching suite of audio creation tools, including soundbites, podcasts, live audio rooms.#SocialChatter #SocialMedia #SocialMediaNews #FacebookNews https://t.co/oytN9QCBkU pic.twitter.com/GcwllSnqBn— Social Chefs (@socialchefs) April 22, 2021 Why Facebook's Audio Creation Tools Matter For Your Business With Facebook's new suite of audio creation tools, you will be able to create audio to compete with Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces. If you haven't yet started jumped into audio-only content (besides podcasts), you'll want to experiment with soundbites (sound effects, mixing audio from Facebook Sound Collection), and even consider creating a podcast to advertise on your Facebook Page or in a Group. One other useful aspect for new Facebook audio creation tools is that you'll be able to monetize them using the Facebook Stars program. Remember, these audio tools will be rolling out over the next year, starting with live audio rooms, later this summer. For now, you should consider looking at what your competitors are doing and also begin to put together an audio strategy for your business. If you need help help tapping into audio content for your business, we offer consulting services . Other Social Media News Mentioned Here are some additional social media news topics that we covered on our weekly live social media marketing talk show that are worth checking out. You can now schedule Facebook and Instagram Stories content. Pinterest launched a Content Claiming Portal to protect your content. Canva introduced Instagram scheduling. How Can Businesses Use Facebook Audio Creation Tools? This week, we talked with Scott Ayres from Agorapulse about the new Facebook audio creation tools. At the Agorapulse Social Media Lab, he recently ran a test about Twitter marketing. Here are the tips that he shared about this topic. How should a business approach audio-only products, such as podcasts, soundbites and live audio? Poll your audience to see if they want audio. Look at what your competitors are doing. Run a test for a minimum of 1 month. Be consistent. Twitter Spaces seems to be the next big thing, will it supercede Facebook audio creation tools before they have a chance to become relevant? Twitter Spaces seems to be more focused on individuals. Facebook audio creation tools seem more focused towards businesses. There is a place for both audio tools in the marketplace. Tools Amazon Live This week, we talked about Amazon Live. If you are interested in getting into live streaming, but struggle to monetize your show, you should consider Amazon Live. When you launch a show on their platform, you can begin monetizing your show almost instantly. This is because Amazon will show your products to customers who are looking at products. The great thing is they will show your Amazon Live show on product detail pages. This helps you to get in front of a warm audience, rather than trying to convert viewers into buyers. We currently host an Amazon Live show, called Business Essentials, where we talk about tools, books and more. You can create a show around any topic that you are passionate about, and livestream to an audience of millions (once approved by Amazon for the Amazon Live Creators program). Amazon Live is a free live streaming solution (and great way to monetize your lives) if you're just getting started. You can see Amazon Live examples below. Try Amazon Live Wrap-up To sum it up this week, we discussed Facebook Hotline app, a mashup of Clubhouse and Instagram Live.
