Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 220 Facebook Custom Ad Metrics - Improve Your Measurements In Facebook news, they have rolled out Facebook custom ad metrics, which will you analyze performance across multiple accounts and formulate your own metrics. Facebook custom ad metrics help your business better understand the performance of your ad campaigns so that you can improve your overall advertising strategy. Why Facebook Custom Ad Metrics Matter For Your Business Previously, if you wanted to understand your Facebook ad campaigns, you had to dig through a number of reports and then build detailed spreadsheets to better compare them. With Facebook custom ad metrics, you can build metric formulas based on your overall goals and to also help you get better insights into how your Facebook Ads are performing. In addition, the new cross-account reporting feature that they have added will help you easily manage multiple Facebook Ad accounts to give you a better understanding of your overall ad performance. Together, Facebook custom ad metrics and cross-account reporting will help you to better understand how your ads are performing across the different channels where you are advertising. You can read the announcement about Facebook custom ad metrics here. Facebook Portal Enhancements: Also in Facebook news, Facebook Portal is rolling out a number of enhancements to include logging in with WhatsApp, support for Facebook Workplace, live streaming using Facebook Live from Facebook Portal to your Facebook Profile and support for watching Amazon Prime Video, FandangoNow, SlingTV and more. Why Facebook Portal Enhancements Matters For Your Business While Facebook Portal added Facebook live to your Facebook Profile from the device, they don't yet support Facebook Live to a Page or Group. Keep in mind that these Facebook Portal enhancements are helping to pave the way for future updates, such as Facebook Page support (we assume). In addition, by adding Facebook Workplace support (with a looming Facebook Workplace app coming soon), we anticipate that Facebook Portal will be extremely useful for video conferencing with your team using an official app. As you can see, these Facebook Portal enhancements help make the device more functional and to get you using it more often. We anticipate that it will help drive greater adoption, so if you haven't purchased a Portal, consider buying a smart display to get yourself and business accustomed to it. You can buy a Facebook Portal starting at around $80 click here. To read the announcement about Facebook Portal enhancements, click here. Canva Video Editing Coming In 2020 Canva is launching a Canva video editing service in 2020. You'll get access to video templates, stock video content, music and more to help you build and animate your own videos. Why Canva Video Editing Matters For Your Business If you've been using Canva for photo editing, moving into video editing is a no-brainer. With Canva video editing, you won't have to hire a video editing professional. Instead, you'll likely get access to video editing for non-designers/editors. This will help you as a business, produce more video content instead of outsourcing it. We currently use Content Samurai, which helps us produce videos in seconds by taking our script and building the video for us. While not much is known about Canva video editing at the moment, we anticipate that if you're already using Canva to edit photos, video editing will be the next successful tool that they launch and get users behind. You can read the announcement about Canva video editing in 2020 here.
