Testing Public Instagram Collections
In Instagram news, they are testing public Instagram collections.
Instagram collections (currently visible in the Android code for Instagram), include options to turn on public collections, as well as the ability to tag contributors - this way they can add to your public collections.
Here is a sample of what public Instagram collections look like.
If Instagram collections seem familiar, it's because Pinterest already includes this feature - they call them "shareable collections."
Why Public Instagram Collections Matter For Your Business
If Instagram were to introduce public collections, this could be a powerful new feature.
Instagram collections could be a great way to collaborate with other Instagram users.
Because you can invite others to contribute, this can be a great way to also quickly build collections to keep users following your Instagram channel.
In addition, last week, we talked about Instagram donation stickers. These provide an easy way to collect your payment information. Imagine being able to use donation stickers along with new public Instagram collections. You have a very powerful e-commerce platform for your business.
While this feature is currently in testing, you may want to begin building relationships with other Instagram users. This way if Instagram collections were to roll-out, you'll be ready!
In the meantime, you can read more about the public Instagram collections here.
Facebook Group Management Tools
In Facebook news, they are rolling out new Facebook Group management tools to help you better manage your Groups.
Here are the Facebook Group management tools that they are adding.
- Post formatting tools
- Manage Facebook Groups and notify members about rule violations
- Filter Facebook Group posts by date range
- Search Facebook Group membership requests
- Group and brand collaboration
- Facebook Group Mentors
- And more
Here's a look at how you can use these new Facebook Group management tools to moderate comments from members.
In addition to removing comments, another one of the powerful Facebook Group management tools are brand collaborations.
You can now easily manage relationships between your Facebook Group and other businesses.
Why Updates To LinkedIn Sales Navigator Matter For Your Business
Managing a Facebook Group takes a lot of time and effort.
By introducing a host of powerful Facebook Group management tools, your business can now put more effort into building a stronger community.
For example, instead of spending time managing your group, there are now tools that you can use to quickly notify members who violate your rules.
If you need to search, you have new filters to quickly help you sort through your Facebook Group.
Besides these Facebook Group management tools, what other features do you need in your Group? Let us know in the comments.
In the meantime, you can read more about Facebook Group management tools here.
Facebook Messenger Formatting For Mobile
Also in Facebook news, they are testing Messenger formatting for mobile using markdown.

Markdown is a lightweight plain text formatting syntax that makes it easy for you to format your text on mobile and desktop (we write in Markdown on our blog).
Why Facebook Messenger Formatting Matters For Your Business
With more and more of the population communicating over mobile, Facebook needs to provide a great mobile experience for its users.
By adding mobile formatting to Messenger, you'll be able to quickly create formatted text. For example, you can bold, italicize or underline your text without adding any special formatting.
The same applies when you create lists and more.
By adding mobile formatting, you'll be able to give your Messenger content more stying to help illustrate your point.
This is currently in testing. Hopefully we'll see an update in the next Facebook Messenger mobile app update.
A Pinterest IPO
In Pinterest news, they are planning for a Pinterest IPO.
Why A Pinterest IPO Matters For Your Business
Pinterest is ready to go public.
What this means is that just like Facebook and Snapchat, they'll have a responsibility to shareholders.
The good news is that this should accelerate any updates that they make.
It also means that they could begin to acquire other companies and build out the social media platform.
If you're a Pinterest user (it's great for SEO), you should be excited, as it should accelerate their growth.
Rumor has it that Pinterest plans to go public later this Summer,
