When Facebook Notes first launched, it was a quick way to write short notes to your friends and fans.
They weren’t visually appealing, but they got the job done.
Early last year, Facebook announced a new Notes layout.
This was likely done so they could compete with Medium and LinkedIn Pulse which offered their own platform to create new notes and blog posts.
At the time, Facebook Notes was only available for Facebook Profiles.

Great article!
One question though…I have a FB page and i post recipes on it among other things. I want to write the recipes on the NOTES and just add the URL as a link in my post, instead of having an endless post…Is there a way to do this and make sure that the note wont be on my followers feed? since the original post will be there, i don’t want to swamp them with two very similar posts …Thanks:)
Facebook doesn’t provide that level of controls. Notes go out to all of the people who are following you. We wouldn’t be concerned about swamping someone with a post here and there. If it’s the same post you’re sharing, that’s another story @talrom:disqus.
I just started using the notes. I saved the draft 3 times, accidently clicked out of it, now cant’ find it anywhere! Help!
@disqus_QtD66aCdGi:disqus, you can try going to http://www.facebook.com/notes. There, you’ll see notes your friends have written. You can then click on “my notes” and you should see any Facebook notes that you have written or look under my drafts to see saved notes. Hope this helps!
