Facebook is working on rolling out short form video content. Right now, Reels will start to show up in your News Feed and within Facebook Groups. If you're in Canada, Mexico, or India, you should start to see some tests of the Reels product. Here is what is known about Facebook Reels. Record directly in the Facebook app Instagram Reels can be shown as recommended content on Facebook Videos can appear in a "Reels" section of the News Feed, if creators opt in In addition, Facebook Reels will have the typical tools that you're used to, such as video capture, music selection, camera roll, timed text, and much more. You'll also be able to speed up or slow down parts of your Facebook Reels content. We anticipate that Instagram Reels features will also make their way to Facebook Reels. More on that below. Why Facebook Reels Matter For Your Business People spend around 4 hours per day, consuming video. Facebook wants to keep users on the platform, so they're introducing Facebook Reels. What this means for you as a business owner, is that you need to start creating video content. Keep in mind that people prefer to watch shorter videos, versus longer videos. Think TikTok and Reels videos. Reels won't be much different. Customers want short, to-the-point videos. If you're looking to capture their attention, you'll want to start creating short videos, on the platform they spend the most time on. As a business, you should start asking your customers and website visitors, where they spend the majority of their time at, and then create the content on that platform - each has their own version of Reels, whether it's Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels, TikTok or YouTube Shorts. This will help you align with your customers, and keep them engaged. Then it's up to you to further refine your video content strategy over time.
