Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 305 Instagram Limits, Automatically Control Comments and DMs From Followers This week, we're talking about Instagram Limits. Instagram wants to help you control comment and direct message abuse on the platform. To do this, they are introducing Instagram Limits. This new set of features will help you feel safe on Instagram. Here is what you'll be able to control using these new limits set by Instagram. The ability for people to limit comments and DM requests during spikes of increased attention; Stronger warnings when people try to post potentially offensive comments; The global rollout of our Hidden Words feature, which allows people to filter abusive DM requests. The key takeaway is that you can have Limits automatically hide comments and DMs from people who you either don't follow you or only recently followed you. This can be particularly useful if you've ever had an influx or unwanted comments or direct messages, shortly after connecting with someone, or joining a platform. Instagram Limits is available today, to everyone around the world. You can access IG Limits under Settings > Privacy > Limits. and can enable or disable Instagram Limits anytime! Remember, you can control who to limit, as well as how long to limit them (the minimum is 1 day). Here is a look at how to access the Limits feature. In #Instagram news, they're rolling out Limits, controls to help you better protect your community and Inbox from abuse. This new control will automatically hide comments and DM requests.#SocialChatter #SocialMedia #SocialMediaNews #InstagramNews https://t.co/Dz3mCotfxa pic.twitter.com/R5XAfDUJ0R— Social Chefs (@socialchefs) August 18, 2021 Why Instagram Limits Matter For Your Business If you've ever been bombarded by unwanted comments or direct messages, you'll want to consider enabling Instagram Limits. Not only can it help you avoid being bothered by abusive comments or DMs, but it can save you time and reduce the amount of time you waste checking recent notifications. As a business, you'll also want to enable Instagram Limits on your account. If you're a solopreneur, you don't have a lot of time to waste. Instead, let IG help handle unnecessary comments and message that you receive (it does this automatically once you enable Limits).
