Save IGTV Videos

In Instagram news, some users can now save IGTV videos.

While you may not be using IGTV much, we expect big things in 2019.

In fact, Ross Brand mentioned IGTV as one of his social media predictions for 2019.

While there isn't much to being able to save IGTV videos, here's how the feature works.

How To Save IGTV Videos

How to save IGTV videos

  1. Launch the IGTV app
  2. Open a video in IGTV
  3. Tap the "…"
  4. Choose "save"

You have just learned how to save IGTV videos!

Why Learning How To Save IGTV Videos Matters For Your Business

The "save IGTV video" feature might come in handy if you ever want to go back and watch an IGTV video.

You might even want to use it as a research tool.

For example, maybe you're busy and you see an IGTV video that you want to study and learn how they made it?

By saving an IGTV video, you can watch it again - you'll find your saved videos under the "saved" tab.

While we don't have the ability to save IGTV videos yet, do you? Update your IGTV app and then check to see if you have the save option.

Self Regram On Instagram (Natively)

Also in Instagram news, if you're an iOS user, you can share Instagram posts across multiple Instagram accounts.

You've probably heard the term, "regram," before. It is basically adding the ability to share posts from other Instagram users on your own channel.

Self Regram is the ability to share your Instagram post across multiple channels at once, something that Instagram has long avoided.

How To Share Instagram Posts From One Channel To Another

Here is how to natively "self regram" on Instagram posts.

Regram posts across Instagram accounts

  1. Launch the Instagram app on your iOS device
  2. Upload a photo or video
  3. Under the "post to other accounts" section, choose other Instagram channels to share to

You'll now be able to share your message across multiple Instagram channels at once.

Keep in mind, that this isn't the best way that most social media managers will recommend.

Why Sharing Instagram Posts To Multiple Instagram Accounts Matters For Your Business

We're a little concerned about this feature. While it makes it easier to share one Instagram post to multiple channels, this is advice that a good, quality, social media manager would never recommend to a client.

Normally, you would want to tweak the message depending on the channel that was sharing it. Right now, you won't see this option.

We would caution using the "self regram" feature.

If you happen to manage different brands, you may be cutting corners, but there are no shortcuts in social media.

You could end up doing much more harm than good by using this feature, so be careful.

Facebook Messenger Dark Mode

In Facebook news, they are testing dark mode in Facebook Messenger.

Dark mode is where you have a color scheme the is light-on-dark. You can also usually set up your device to automatically switch to the color scheme at a certain time of the day. This way it is easier for you to see your screen.

Right now, they are only testing Facebook Messenger dark mode in select countries, so you may not see it yet when you launch Facebook Messenger.

Why Facebook Messenger Dark Mode Matters For Your Business

As a business owner, you're probably on your devices a lot. This can result in eye strain, fatigue and more.

By implementing a dark mode in Facebook Messenger,

New Features For Facebook Jobs And Groups

Also this week, Facebook began testing a salary filter in the Facebook Jobs search feature and a redesigned Facebook Groups tab and discover page.

Facebook Groups Features

Why Facebook Job Features & Facebook Group Updates Matter For Your business

The Facebook Jobs salary filter is particular important. If you're looking for a job, one of the frustrating things is applying for a job without an idea on salary expectations.

If your business is looking to hire someone, by adding a way for people to filter jobs based on salary, you can quickly weed out unqualified individuals.

The second feature, Facebook Group discover and a redesigned Groups tab are important if your business runs a Facebook Group.

By improving how users navigate your Facebook Group and also how they can discover Facebook Groups, this can help your business build and grow a thriving community on Facebook.

If your business has a Facebook Group and you haven't taken the time to fill out a thorough description about your Group, now is the time. This way Facebook can recommend your Group to other users.

Tools

In addition to sharing the latest news from this past week, we also highlighted some great social media tools and apps for you to check out.

StreamYard

The first tool that we have discovered this week is StreamYard.

Streamyard

StreamYard is a live streaming software that is very similar to BeLive, another web-based live streaming software.

You can interview guests, share your screen, add a call-to-action during your broadcast, and more!

You can use StreamYard for free. If you want to remove the StreamYard branding, add unlimited broadcasts, add your custom logo and more, the Basic plans runs $25 per month.

You can try StreamYard for live streaming from the link below.

Zoom Q2N-4K

The second tool that we have for you this week is the Zoom Q2N-4K.

Zoom Q2N-4K

Are you looking for a way to record professional video and audio for your live streams?

Maybe you do a lot of traveling and want a portable system that will let you still maintain the quality of your podcast from anywhere?

With the Zoom Q2N-4K, you get professional quality video and audio in one complete package - it's also portable.

Here's a look at how the Zoom Q2N-4K works.

The Zoom Q2N-4K can function as a separate camera so that you can record video in 4K and audio up to 24-bit/96 kHz that you can use in other projects.

It also functions as a 4K quality camera for live streaming.

Another great thing about the Zoom Q2N-4K is that you can power it using just a few AA batteries or USB.

Your video and audio is recorded directly to a microSD, microSDHC and microSDXC cards.

Previously, you had to rely on tools such as Adobe Photoshop to help you do this. While it would work great for some images, other times, it would make them look to sterile and remove important details, such as hair.

There is a new web-based tool, called Remove BG, that can help you with removing the background from your images.

Here's a look at how Remove BG works.

The great thing about Remove BG is that not only does it save you from having to hire a graphic designer to adjust your photos, it's also free.

The Zoom Q2N-4K will run you $200. Remember, you'll also need to add an SD card in order to save the video and audio that you record - we suggest getting a microSDXC card to save your recording to.
