Facebook Launches Facebook Sports Stadium
This week, Facebook announced Facebook Sports Stadium.
"With 650 million sports fans, Facebook is the world’s largest stadium. People already turn to Facebook to celebrate, commiserate, and talk trash with their friends and other fans.
Facebook has "built a place devoted to sports so you can get the feeling you’re watching the game with your friends even when you aren’t together."
While this is just for sports, we could see this being a valuable tool for other major events such as The Oscars.
It could also be a powerful tool for Facebook Pages if they were able to easily bring together conversations happening at their live events, such as a convention.
Facebook Audience Optimization Comes to Facebook Pages
Also this week, Facebook announced Facebook audience optimization.
Facebook Audience Optimization is "an organic targeting tool to help publishers reach and engage their audiences on Facebook and better understand the interests of people clicking on their posts. "
With Audience Optimization you can choose:
- Preferred audience
- Audience restrictions
- Audience insights

Google Files Patent to Replace Social Media Marketers
Also making the rounds this week is a patent from Google.
They filed a patent that looks to make it easier for people receiving links via Gmail to find trending content across other social networks and also to help identify other relevant posts made on social media channels.
