Facebook Slideshow Ads Get New Features
Also this week, Facebook announced updates to slideshow ads.
Here is what Facebook slideshow ads look like.
With this update, Facebook slideshow ads bring a number of new useful features to the Facebook Ads creating process.
Here are some of the new slideshow ad features.
- Add text and music
- Create slideshows on the go from mobile
- Use assets from Facebook’s stock image library
- Deliver video content to users on low bandwidth connections
Facebook Live Two-Person Broadcasts
This week, Facebook rolled out an update for Facebook Live Video.
This new update brings the ability to do two-person live broadcasts.
Right now it was only rolled out to verified accounts and will be rolling out to non-verified pages in September. You also have to be using an iOS device for now.
This is a big step forward, as Facebook continues to make its push into the live video arena.
Pinterest Acquires Instapaper
In Pinterest news, they have acquired Instapaper.
Instapaper is an app that you can use to save and store articles to read when you’re offline.
This is a great move by Pinterest and should help improve boost discoverability of content.
Considering Facebook has save on Facebook, in order for Pinterest to keep up, they need to make it easier for their users to discover and save new pins.
This acquisition should help!
Apple Working on Snapchat-style Video Sharing
One last piece of social media news this week is that Apple is working on a Snapchat type of video sharing.
While little is known about the project, their video sharing app would allow users to record video, apply filters and drawings like you can with Snapchat, and share their creations with contacts or other social networks such as Twitter.

With Lifestage (iOS), teenagers can get to know people at their school or at nearby schools.

The last tool we wanted to share this week is called Napkin Sketch.
Napkin Sketch (iOS) is an app to help you quickly sketch out rough ideas.
What is great about Napkin Sketch is that it’s not about getting your idea perfect. Instead, it’s about getting the idea down so that you can work on it later.
Napkin Sketch is a free app that can help you quickly jot down your next million dollar idea so that you don’t forget it.
