Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 294 Twitter Blue, A Monthly Subscription Model For Tweeters This week, we have Twitter Blue. This new product from Twitter is a monthly subscription model. For around $3 per month (USD), you will be able to get access to a few features in Twitter as a Blue susbscriber. These include "undo send," which will stop your tweet from going live. There are also bookmark folders. This will let you group saved tweets for later. Another benefits to being a Twitter Blue subscriber is that. you'll get access to a reader mode, which will let you quickly read through tweets. Twitter is also adding in expedited customer support, along with customization options to include changing the color of your Twitter app icon, although we don't think that's worth the monthly subscription fee. #Twitter is launching Blue, a subscription model for customizing your experience when tweeting. #SocialChatter #SocialMedia #SocialMediaNews #TwitterNews https://t.co/2W6u81BzHw— Social Chefs (@socialchefs) June 3, 2021 This new monthly subscription from Twitter is rolling out in Canada and Australia. Some users in the United Kingdom already have access to Twitter Blue. We anticipate other parts of the world will get access very soon. Why Twitter Blue Matters For Your Business If your business utilizes Twitter a lot, it could be worth signing up for Twitter Blue via the Twitter mobile app. If your business wants to work more efficiently and get ahead of your competitors, it's always best to invest in tools that will save you time, while helping you be more productive. For now, while Twitter Blue features seem lackluster, remember, this is version 1. Chances are, Twitter will build out their monthly subscription service to include additional features (and maybe a button to edit your tweets)? In the meantime, Twitter is also trying to diversify their revenue streams. We suspect that more social media platforms will follow suit with a monthly subscription. Other Social Media News Mentioned Here are some additional social media news topics that we covered on our weekly live social media marketing talk show that are worth checking out. You can use Twitter Spaces on the web. Twitter is looking to bring emoji-style reactions to your tweets. You can now start embedded Facebook videos at a specific timestamp. See what your TikTok videos look like before sharing them with a new preview mode. Personal Branding Vs Business Branding This week, we talked with Ramon Ray about personal branding. Here are the tips that he shared about this topic. What is personal branding? We, our face, represents what products and services we are. How can we use who we are to build up community, followers, etc for our business. How do you distinguish between a personal brand and a business brand, or do you? The main thing to understand and consider, as small businesses, we’re too small to split. For yourself and your business and rock it. By splitting your personal and business brand, you tend to take away from the other business. Tool of the Week Buy Me a Coffee This week, we talked about Buy Me a Coffee. Want to generate some additional revenue for your business? Buy Me a Coffee is a way for your business to collect tips from fans as a creator. All you need to do is sign-up for a free account. Fans can then send you money to support your business efforts. For example, you could promote your Buy Me a Coffee link that you are given during your live stream. At the moment, this extra money, although not significant, could be a building block and additional revenue stream for your business over time. Buy Me a Coffee is free to use. You pay just a small percentage per transaction. Generate extra revenue for your business Wrap-up To sum it up this week, we discussed Twitter Blue, a monthly subscription service from Twitter. This new service gives you access to an undo button, easier way to read tweets along with a few additional perks, such as enhanced customer support. It is rolling out today, to a handful of countries.
